Cariwest Festival
Event Photographers Wanted
The Burwell School of Photography has had a long relationship with the Cariwest festival, providing volunteer photographers to help document their colorful and entertaining events. On May 18th, the festival is presenting their MAS BAND LAUNCH at West Edmonton Mall. For those of you who are not familiar with the festival, Mas bands are the heart and soul of a carnival parade. They consist of groups of parade-goers who all wear a themed costume and march in the parade together. Mas bands are run by leaders who every year year come up with new themes and then design and create elaborate costumes for their band members to purchase and wear in the parade. This launch party is where they will showcase their designs and recruit members to their band.
Volunteers would be expected to take photos of the event between approximately 4:00 to 10:00 PM. Photo opportunities consist of a VIP mixer, exhibits and booths and a fashion show where the bands will showcase their creations. It is an amazing spectacle and we hope you can help out by volunteering your time and your camera.
